Jerry Barcelow, O.D.

Dr. Jerry Barcelow is a 1980 graduate of the New England College of Optometry. Dr. Jerry subsequently returned to Vermont and joined his father’s optometry practice. At that time the practice was located on the South Royalton Village Green. In 1998, in order to allow for more space and to be handicapped accessible, he moved the practice to its present location.

Dr. Jerry is a former president of the Vermont Optometric Association. In recent years, he has enjoyed visiting Haiti to provide eye exams and glasses. He is often asked about his plans for retirement, to which he responds that he would miss seeing his patients. He is happy with his three day a week “semi-retirement” for the foreseeable future.

Dr. Jerry is also active in his hometown community. He and his wife enjoyed being foster parents for many years. He is a volunteer with hospice, active in his local church, helps provide occasional meals at The Haven, and serves on community committees in Royalton. His hobbies include spoiling his grandchildren, beekeeping, gardening, and getting up his winter’s wood supply.
